Melancholia's recording was made with an iphone and wasn't meant to be part of the album but simply a memo for myself. I wrote it last summer, in the recording studio of my friend Tiziano Lamberti, and I wrote it on the piano because there was no guitar available in that specific moment.
Listening to the track again, I realized that there was no way for me to replicate the intense fragility of the recording, and we decided to keep the track as it is.
lyrics
We always say
We live for the “here and now”
But this veil
Doesn’t go away
Is this melancholia?
Or just the fact
That the here and now
Has an expiration date?
What I know is that I wish
That this circumscribed
Frame of time
Circumscribed
Frame of time
Will last on my skin for a long time
Will be at my fingertips
When the world will get dark
And the air heavy and clogged
But in your eyes I see
Immense fields to explore
And shimmering flickers
And hunting shadows
And a little you
At the end
Waving goodbye
Relentlessly
Waving goodbye
Is this melancholia?
Or just the fact
That the here and now
Has an expiration date?
What I know is that I wish
That this circumscribed
Frame of time
Circumscribed
Frame of time
Will last on my skin for a long time
Will be at my fingertips
When the world will get dark
And the air heavy and clogged
